Dan's
Family Photos - Thanks
to Felix, Dan's dad, for all of these wonderful photos! |

Danny when he
was a teenager. He's wearing MY white jumpsuit and the neck jewelry
was also mine (I still have that). It was the mid seventies and
the hair and necklace were in style in the Montreal area. Notice
that his hair was red. It's more auburn than red...his
mother had that color hair...and I, was losing mine. At the time,
he was at the phase of going thru any clothing I wasn't wearing. A
few years later, all my clothes wouldn't fit him anymore.
He was a
beautiful boy.

Danny
had just joined the Army. |

Dan and I in
happier days. We always celebrated Christmas as a family.
That's the only
time we broke out the crystal & silverware. Then his mom (she
was Irish) and I would fight about who would make the gravy for the
turkey. It was an annual ritual signaling to the kids that all was
well.

The

Here
is the promised photo of Blanche and I taken outside the Griesbach
Protestant chapel in Edmonton, Alberta after our wedding on
August 8, 1959. |

the ceremony - on the way home. |

I
couldn't resist sending you this photo of Danny. You'll never know
how much I miss the days when he was that age. I had a beautiful
child, a splendid wife and a career. Enjoy your life to the
fullest...it only comes by once. |

While
we were in Germany, Dan went on organized trips with his school mates. |

Danny's
grand-father who was a captain during WWII and I was a
"boy-soldier" in training (I wasn't yet 18). VE day was on
12th May 1945 and I turned 18 years old on the 27th. |
|
Extreme left -
my dad (Felix) next to Vivian (his wife). She's now 83. I
see her often lately when she comes to her boat with her husband
in Gananoque, a town 28 km east from Kingston . Next -
moi and Blanche. Next, Dorothy (in Edmonton), Babe
(deceased ), Edgar ( Edmonton) and Velma (residing in California).
I think Danny only met Dorothy once.

Danny was just
approaching his 6th birthday when he started grade school in
Winnipeg, Manitoba.

You have the
son...might as well see the father in his younger days. It's the
only decent photo portrait of me in 27 years of military life. The
small photo is me at 15 yrs old. I have been in the military on
and off and been wearing a uniform since 1942 and before that, as a kid
I was on the drill team of my boarding school.
